An exceptionally complete quarter stater from the Baiocassi

CELTIC, Northwest Gaul. Baiocassi. Late 2nd to mid 1st century BC. Quarter Stater (Electrum, 13 mm, 1.91 g, 10 h), 'aux sangliers' type. Celticized head of Apollo to right, surmounted by a boar and with strings of pearls coming out of his own head. Rev. Devolved charioteer, driving cart drawn by a centaur to left, holding reins with his right hand and long branch ending in a vexillum-like banner in his left; below, boar standing right. DT 2256. LT 6963. SLM 209. Rare. An exceptionally complete example struck on a very broad flan. Light scratch on the obverse and with a thin flan crack, otherwise, good very fine.
